We hereby would like to offer you a Cape Town Picnic Flight with a helicopter to the magical west coast of South Africa. We found a unique place with a boma on the beach where you can try delicious clams & oysters. The food is fresh because it is harvested in Saldanha Bay by Kyle and Marti right on the Atlantic coast.

Picnic flights - Sightseeing flights - Cape Town helicopter sightseeing flight in South Africa
What is included in the helicopter flight?
This helicopter tour includes the flight, a delicious meal of mussels and oysters (with some starters like bread and smoked fish). Soft drinks are also included in the price. Red or white wines and champagne can be ordered for a fee!
The mussel and oyster beds are grown directly on the coast, so they are noticeably in a league of their own and of course freshness is not a problem. The sea products are sold all over South Africa and even on the Garden Route you will eat oysters from the west coast! Really FRESH but only in Saldanha Bay and served on arrival.
We leave the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront from our small helicopter airport. Immediately we see the majestic Table Mountain, the symbol of South Africa. We continue to fly along the long and beautiful Bloubergstrand. On the left we see Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for a long time. The beach is long and only at the beginning do we see a few water sports enthusiasts, anglers and sun worshippers.
The flight runs over the Big Bay towards Melkbosstrand and further over the West Coast National Park (we are not allowed to fly over so that we do not scare any animals). We see Grotto Bay Nature Reserve and the coastal village of Yzerfontein on the right.
The national park was declared a national park in 1985 and includes the Langebaan lagoon. There are four islands belonging to the NP, which are shown on the map. In total, the nature reserve is 27,500 hectares and includes the Langebaan lagoon with 6,000 hectares. It runs to Saldanha Bay. This area contains 30% of all salt marshes in all of South Africa. An indescribable bird paradise with many wading birds.
West Coast National Park and whale watching
In 1987 the private nature and animal reserve Postberg was incorporated into the West Coast National Park and is guarded and managed by the park administration. The Postberg is only opened in the spring of South Africa for 3 months of the year. This protects the flora and fauna in this region in a special way. If we fly this route in the spring, we might be able to admire huge carpets of flowers from the air, but this depends on the weather! With a bit of luck we will also watch the giants of the seas - our beloved whales - in spring. They visit our coastline from June to the end of November! We only have to keep a distance of at least 300 meters when watching whales!
We continue up the west coast to Saldanha Bay, where we are received by our hosts Kyle and Marti. This is one of those experiences where we'd rather write less and let the pictures tell the story. We can guarantee this is not a standard seafood consumption offer.
This experience includes the flight, the delicious meal of mussels and oysters (with some starters such as bread and smoked fish), and soft drinks.
Champagne, red or white wines can be ordered for a fee!
We are very sure that the Cape Town gourmet flight will open the hearts of all connoisseurs and explorers. All in all, a heavenly treat at the most beautiful end of Africa!
