We fly with a helicopter from Cape Town in the direction of Stellenbosch & Klapmuts. Our destination is the Babylonstoren winery. Dating back to 1692, it is a real historic Cape Dutch wine farm, with one of the best preserved farms on the Cape Peninsula. As we land we will see the hinterland of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch in the distance. This sightseeing flight is a speciality for all wine lovers and botanists.

The property is known for its magnificent garden that extends over 3.5 hectares. It's divided into 15 sections that include berries, fruits, vegetables, native plants, fragrant lawns, and a prickly pear maze.
Ducks and chickens enchant the garden in their own way. Wild bees pollinate many plants to prepare for a large harvest. The melons in particular cause excitement when they are hung on trellises like a giant ball.
A secluded path runs along the creek where thousands of Clivias bloom in spring. The garden also features a wide variety of trees of botanical and historical importance.
Every aspect of Babylonstoren - including the modern Farm Hotel & Spa, farm shop, bakery and restaurant - is well worth a visit.
The tasting room is open daily - from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in winter and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in summer. The tour of the cellar and olive press lasts 30 minutes and is followed by a tasting for a fee.
Our olive oil blends and seasonal single variety offerings are the ultimate pantry and begin their journey right here on our farm before entering your kitchen.
