The highlight of every safari is a visit to the Addo National Park, which is about 350 km from Knysna, which is in the heart of the GardenRoute.
What actually is the Garden Route in South Africa?
One of the most beautiful travel routes of Cape Town. It stretches around 200 km from Mossel Bay to Storms River along the N2 coastal highway and offers a wide range of attractions and excursions.
Since the region forms the middle of the two coastal cities Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, it is worth planning a longer trip for this area.
If you want to go on a hike, the Tsitsikamma National Park is ideal. Here you have the opportunity to hike the famous Otter Trail.
What can you do?
Combine the Garden Route with a visit to Hermanus, the ‘capital’ for whale watching. Nearby you will find a small sleepy village - Cape Agulhas.
Cape Agulhas is the southernmost point of the African continent and, thanks to its barren nature and green meadows on the hilly landscape, actually looks like the end of the world. The small town is often confused with the Cape of Good Hope, which is more towards Cape Town.
The area offers many opportunities for safaris, tours and helicopter flights. Many private animal farms are on the way. Find out about safaris on private safari farms or the Addo National Park. The Addo Park has the highest density of elephants in all of Africa.
The coastal cities of Knysna and Plettenberg Bay are particularly famous for their abundance of different fish and oysters, which is reflected in the menus of the local restaurants. You have the opportunity to sail the Knysna Lagoon with a catamaran or to admire and photograph it from one of the hiking trails along the protected coastal rocks. If you are short of time, you can also use our service and fly from Mossel Bay to Knysna.
In front of the lagoon city you will find some interesting hiking trails, which range from a simple walk to demanding hikes and give visitors fantastic insights into the partly untouched nature. Waterfalls, bird and monkey parks can be admired here.
These are just examples of a tour of South Africa and a visit to the region described. We would be happy to inform you about sightseeing flights with a helicopter.
